  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • The RN- Manager Clinical Quality/Process Improvement effectively executes the safety and quality agenda and system standards of practice to ensure safety, quality, and experience of care at every point of service as well as employee and patient safety across the professional nursing practice, clinical areas and the health system. Serve as a content expert on scope and standards of nursing practice, ancillary role(s) standards of practice, nursing sensitive quality indicators, culture of safety and patient safety science, root cause analysis, and other process improvement strategies. Partners with all administrative and clinical leaders to advise, plan and implement care standards as needed and lead care transformation efforts throughout care delivery areas

  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
      • Preferred: Master’s Degree or higher in a clinical or healthcare related field
    • Licensure/Certification
      • Required: California RN License
      • Preferred: Certified professional in healthcare quality (CPHQ) or another nationally recognized certification; Lean Six Sigma certification (green or black belt)
    • Experience
      • Required: Three (3) years of healthcare accreditation/regularity compliance, nursing quality or risk management experience
      • Preferred: Clinical Nurse Specialist or Clinical Nurse Leader experience; Change management, project management, data analysis experience
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Develops and executes patient safety and quality initiatives across organization to drive results with a focus in the areas of safety/reliability, patient and staff satisfaction, informatics, continuous improvement, and process improvement.
    • Leads highly visible, complex and transformative projects aimed at delivering reliable outcomes.
    • Develops and sustains an environment that supports excellence in clinical practice and patient care.
    • Implements care delivery model changes to deliver superior quality outcomes, operational effectiveness and experience of care.
    • Ensures compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements and national patient safety goals for the delivery of patient care that is highly reliable, and patient-family centered.
    • Ensures a collaborative patient centered approach to service excellence, promotes employee engagement and is a leader of the care transformation.
    • Serves as a change agent and key resource to leaders, physicians, and other stakeholders to proactively identify, communicate, and implement strategic and operational frameworks to improve performance and effectiveness.
    • Leads initiatives in coordination with leadership and providers to implement and manage all aspects of clinical quality and patient safety.
    • Coordinates with external entities such as vendors, health plans, regulatory agencies, state agencies and local authorities.
    • Monitors performance under quality performance incentives and targets across care delivery areas.
    • Leads a coordinated effort with leadership and governance groups to advance identified quality and patient safety program initiatives.
    • Leads quality initiatives in the design, implementation, and execution of assigned projects.
    • Recommends and prepares new or revised quality related policies to the leadership team as appropriate.
    • Promotes continued development of staff through attendance at hospital in service/lectures, professional seminars, conferences, professional associations and other means.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
